Our Story
Tiny Tiger® Cat Food was born out of a desire to give cats the nutrition they need. Our founders were frustrated with the lack of high-quality cat food options on the market. They dreamed of starting a cat food company that crafted recipes with thoughtfully chosen ingredients to optimize feline health.
In 2005, they launched Tiny Tiger® with a line of natural cat food featuring premium proteins and superfoods. The recipes contained no artificial preservatives, colors or flavors – just real, whole food ingredients.
The initial product lineup included Dry and Wet Kitten Formulas along with recipes for adult cats. The foods were purposely designed to align with cats’ evolutionary needs as carnivores. This included high amounts of animal protein balanced with fruits, veggies, vitamins and antioxidants.
The brand name Tiny Tiger was selected to capture the playful spirit of kittens and cats. The whimsical tiger logo reinforced this fun, energetic image.
From the start, Tiny Tiger® recipes focused on premium proteins like chicken, turkey, salmon and ocean fish. The use of whole meat, fish and poultry satisfied cats’ cravings for animal protein. Fruits like cranberries and blueberries provided antioxidant support. Digestive aids like pumpkin and prebiotic fiber optimized stool quality and gut health.
In 2007, Tiny Tiger® expanded into the natural Cat Treats category. The treats featured freeze-dried meat and fish like chicken breast and wild caught salmon. Whole food ingredients provided more nutrition along with enticing flavor. Cat parents welcomed the treats as nutritious alternatives to junk food snacks.
As the brand grew, new product lines were introduced:

Max’s passion for cats started in childhood. He went on to become a veterinarian before launching Tiny Tiger®. He brings expertise in feline nutrition and health to his role leading the company. Max ensures every recipe aligns with the biology and wellness needs of cats.
Elizabeth Clark, President
With 15 years in consumer products, Elizabeth leads Tiny Tiger’s® strategic growth. She previously managed pet care brands for a large CPG company. Elizabeth channels her love of animals into making sure Tiny Tiger® delivers the finest cat food possible.
Howard Chang, PhD, Chief Nutrition Officer
As an animal nutrition expert, Howard oversees product formulation and research. He leverages his PhD in animal science to create recipes optimized for cat health. Howard is committed to nutritional excellence and continuous improvement.
