Whether you choose to breastfeed or bottle feed, you’ll be feeding your baby 8-12 times a day for 20-45 minutes each time! A great nursing pillow will keep you and your child comfortable and relaxed during these moments.
The perfect nursing pillow will help prevent neck, arm and back aches and pains, and help you find the best position for your baby’s digestion. Here are the top 5 nursing pillows we found, followed by in-depth reviews.
MY BREST FRIEND Luxury Nursing Pillow

This pillow is not a multi-functional one, but it is an excellent nursing pillow with useful features that other pillows lack. Designed to support breastfeeding, My Brest Friend wraps around you, has a backrest cushion, and attaches to itself to prevent it from moving. The Genius Front Pouch is perfect for storing water bottles, nipple cream, protein bars or other items you may need while breastfeeding. My Brest Friend offers a flatter surface than the Boppy, so baby is stable and won’t roll into the space between the pillow and parent.
Luna Lullaby Nursing Pillow

The L-shape of this pillow is genius: it fits on your lap and under your arm without clinging to your belly-perfect for moms who had a C-section. But moms and dads of all shapes and sizes may find they prefer this more open, flexible shape, too. Another distinguishing factor is the cover’s unique fold-over closure – no Velcro, zippers, snaps or buttons here. The cover is also machine washable and can be put in the dryer.
Humble-Bee Nurse Sling Nursing Pillow

Whether you’re feeding baby on the go or tucking a breastfeeding pillow into an already stuffed suitcase, this is one of the best nursing pillows for travel – we’ve never seen anything like this innovative nursing carrier before, but the design is genius. Adjustable shoulder straps and a padded sling hold baby’s head to your breast so you can keep your hands free. The compact shape and convenient pockets mean it can double as a crossbody bag on the go, or you can stash it in the included travel bag.
Leachco Cuddle-U Original Nursing Pillow

Leachco is one of our favorite maternity pillows, so it’s no surprise that the brand’s versatile, extra-thick nursing pillow is also a winner.
Like the Boppy, the Leachco Cuddle-U is U-shaped and can be used for nursing, prone time and seat support. Moms of wobbly babies will love the patented seat cover that you slide your baby into to help hold her in place while you nurse.
Ergobaby Natural Curve

Ergobaby Natural Curve is an ergonomically shaped polyurethane foam nursing pillow. It is sturdy, flame retardant free, and has a removable cover that can be washed in the washing machine. The pillow’s carefully designed shape allows for tummy-to-tummy breastfeeding and keeps the baby’s head above the tummy. In addition, the sturdiness of the material will not warp over time. Ergobaby claims that the extra support will help prevent lethargy and back strain during breastfeeding.
The pillow has a more purpose-specific design and may not be as versatile as other pillows. The qualities that make it an excellent nursing pillow prevent it from being used for other functions. For example, it is not soft enough to serve as a comfortable backrest for mom and is a bit too structured to be used as a support pillow for infants. There is no lap belt on the Natural Curve, and some moms found it challenging to keep the pillow in the correct position without the belt. However, we found this pillow to be virtually flawless overall. If you can buy a single function product and want something to help maintain good posture, then the Ergobaby is a good choice.
