Our Story
Sunday Best® was founded in 2012 by a group of friends looking for the perfect picnic dress: something tres chic but totally fuss-free. After scouring the markets to no avail, they decided to create it themselves. The result was an effortless cotton frock with a smocked bodice and ruffled skirt—as pretty and carefree as a day outdoors.
The first collection of breezy sundresses made from GOTS certified organic cotton was an instant hit, winning praise for combining ethical production with playful femininity. Since then, we’ve expanded into a full lifestyle brand while staying true to our DNA of laidback luxury and conscientious design.
Sustainability is woven into our brand values. We use eco-friendly fabrics like TencelTM lyocell, linen, and recycled polyester whenever possible. Our factories are audited regularly to ensure workers are paid and treated fairly. And we offset 100% of our carbon emissions while encouraging our community to reduce and reuse through clothing swaps and donations.
Our Fabrics & Materials

Organic Cotton
Nothing beats organic cotton for casual comfort! We love working with natural fibers for their sustainability and breathability. Organic cotton is grown using methods that nourish soil health without toxic pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. The result is a cozy, lived-in look and feel.
TencelTM Lyocell
This eco-friendly material is made from wood pulp and processed using a closed-loop solvent system. TencelTM lyocell shares cotton’s softness with silk’s beautiful drape. It absorbs 50% more moisture than cotton, making it ideal for flowy dresses and lightweight blouses.
Linen
A warm-weather favorite, linen is breathable, antimicrobial, and gets even softer with wear. Ours comes from European flax in gorgeous natural hues that look pristine after a cold wash. The perfect choice for an effortless tunic or weekend pant.
Recycled Polyester
Turning plastic bottles into fashion, recycled polyester reduces landfill waste and energy use. We blend it with spandex for stretchy athleisure pieces that keep their shape. Workout in comfort knowing your activewear is gently washed by the waves, not harsh chemicals.

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) ensures organics are grown sustainably and processed safely while OEKO-TEX® testing guarantees all components are free from harmful chemicals.
Carbon Neutral & Climate Conscious
We’re a certified carbon neutral company that offsets more than just our shipping emissions—we take responsibility for our entire supply chain footprint. We also design for circularity, like making tencel from renewable wood instead of petroleum. And we never use wasteful plastic mailers—only 100% recycled paper and compostable plant starch.
Charitable Partnerships
Giving back is woven into our mission. We’re honoured to partner with organizations like the Malala Fund and WaterAid on collections that fund access to education and clean water.
