Welcome to Escio® Sweater – your source for luxuriously soft, ethically made sweaters.

Our Story

Escio® Sweater was founded in 2015 by childhood friends Clara Escio and Mia Sweater. Clara and Mia met in elementary school and bonded over their shared love of fashion and knitwear. After graduating from design school, Clara and Mia decided to combine their talents to create a line of premium sweaters made ethically and sustainably.

The name Escio® Sweater comes from blending Clara and Mia’s last names, representing their partnership and vision. Based in Los Angeles, Clara and Mia started Escio® Sweater with a small studio and a few essential sweater styles. They were committed to using only the finest natural fibers and partnering with manufacturers that provided fair wages and safe working conditions.

Over the years, Escio® Sweater has grown from a passion project into a successful fashion brand carried by premium retailers globally. While the business has expanded, Clara and Mia remain hands-on, overseeing every aspect of design and production.

At Escio® Sweater, we believe excellent style and ethical production can go hand-in-hand. Our brand philosophy is rooted in creating timeless, versatile pieces that enhance comfort and confidence while reflecting our core values. Read on to learn more about what makes Escio® Sweater special.

Our Values

Ethics & Sustainability

From day one, ethical and sustainable practices have been central to Escio® Sweater. We actively seek out partners that share our commitment to fair labor practices and environmentally-friendly materials and methods.

Our sweaters are produced in small batches using natural fibers from certified sources. We work closely with our mills and manufacturers to ensure living wages and safe conditions for all workers in our supply chain. We are continually exploring ways to reduce water usage, energy consumption, and waste across our operations.

Quality Materials

The exceptional softness and durability of Escio® Sweater is due to our meticulous sourcing of premium natural fibers. Our primary materials include:

Timeless Design

The Escio® Sweater aesthetic centers on everyday luxury. Our designs blend comfort and style through careful attention to detail. We avoid fleeting trends in favor of silhouettes that transcend seasons.

Elements like ribbed hems, side slits, dropped shoulders, and delicate buttons add interest while remaining versatile. Neutrals and earth tones ensure our sweaters pair perfectly with everything from jeans to dresses.

We strike a balance between relaxed and refined fits that move with you. At Escio® Sweater, our goal is to create modern heirlooms to reach for year after year.

Our Sweaters

Knit Cardigans

From Cashmere boyfriend cardigans to cropped Merino travel wraps, our knit cardigan collection offers lightweight layering in all lengths. Open fronts, buttons, and shawl collars update classic cardigan styling. Both neutral and bold hues pair perfectly over dresses or with your favorite tee and jeans.

Pullover Sweaters

Available in crew neck, V-neck, turtleneck, and mock neck styles, our pullover sweaters combine luxury with comfort. Fitted silhouettes in viscose/wool blends add polish while oversized Alpaca styles invite relaxation. Wear them on their own or layered under jackets.

Tunic Sweaters

Breezy, tunic-length sweaters serve as flattering dress alternatives. Longer hem lengths look great with leggings. Side slits allow movement while ribbed cuffs add structure. Whether dressed up or down, tunic sweaters add feminine flair.

Sweater Tees

Ideal for transitional weather, our sweater tees combine the coziness of knits with a t-shirt silhouette. Shorter lengths work perfectly tucked or untucked. A touch of spandex lends stretch while maintaining shape. Sweater tees go seamlessly from desk to dinner.

Statement Sweaters

While we’re best known for wearable neutrals, our statement sweaters incorporate eye-catching details like embroidered patterns, metallic threads, contrasting colors, and unique textures. From striped boatnecks to Merino Sweaters with lace-up backs, these pieces pack personality.

Sweater Dresses

For laidback luxury, explore our sweater dress collection. From ribbed bodycon midi dresses to flirty fit-and-flare hem lines, sweater dresses epitomize effortless sophistication. Merino wool styles can be dressed up or down with ease.

Our Manufacturing Process

Producing luxurious, ethical sweaters requires careful attention at every step. Here is an overview of our manufacturing process:

1. Design & Development

Our talented in-house design team sketches initial concepts and identifies materials. Prototypes are made to perfect fit, shape, and structure. We evaluate shrinkage and stretch to ensure excellent quality.

2. Source Materials

We work directly with vendors to procure premium yarns and fibers, emphasizing fair trade practices. Dye lots are coordinated to guarantee consistent colors across productions runs.

3. Sample Production

Before large-scale manufacturing, we create hand-knitted samples to visualize finished products. This process helps detect any potential production issues. Feedback from our wear testers helps refine designs.

4. Factory Production

Factories are selected based on quality craftsmanship and fair labor policies. Sweaters are produced in small batches on circular knitting machines. Each piece undergoes inspections for defects.

5. Finishing Details

Once knitting is complete, our sweaters go through the finishing process which includes washing, tumble drying, and pressing. Extra details like buttons, embroidery, lace, and beading are added.

6. Distribution

The final sweaters are shipped to our Los Angeles headquarters for inspection. We package orders for our retail partners and direct customers. Our in-house team handles fulfillment and returns.

By maintaining oversight at every stage, we ensure our sweaters meet our unwavering standards for luxury, ethical production, and environmental sustainability.
