The name “Coach And Four” was inspired by the large four-horse carriages used for luxurious travel centuries past. Back then, only the wealthy could afford to ride in such style and comfort.
Enzo dreamed of crafting shoes that made every woman feel that beautiful, confident, and carefree. Shoes that expressed the wearer’s unique personality, carried them through life’s journeys in comfort, and turned heads wherever they went. Enzo named his company Coach And Four to capture that spirit of timeless elegance, luxury, and the freedom to adventure in style.
In the early days, Enzo handmade every pair himself using local leathers and materials. Word of his quality and workmanship quickly spread through Florence. Soon locals and tourists alike sought out his small shop. As demand grew, Enzo brought in assistants and apprentices to train in his techniques. Growing To Serve More Women
By the 1950s, Enzo was exporting his shoes throughout Europe and America. He moved production to a larger facility to meet demand. Then in the 1970s under Enzo’s son Marco, Coach And Four expanded operations into North America with our flagship stores in New York City, Los Angeles, and Toronto. We carefully chose our locations to give women across North America access to Enzo’s European shoes.
As the brand grew, we remained committed to our heritage. We use premium leathers from Italy and Spain. Our collections showcase masterful construction with precision stitching and cushioned soles that feel amazing. Today, Coach And Four remains an independent, family-owned company. Marco’s daughters Claudia and Elisa now lead the business. They’ve ushered Coach And Four into the digital age by launching our website and social media. Yet they stay true to Enzo’s heritage, overseeing production in our Italian atelier.
