Our History and Heritage
Accupro® was founded in 1969 by John Smith, a brilliant engineer and entrepreneur. Based out of Chicago, Illinois, John started the company in his garage workshop where he hand-crafted each tool and machine component. Word quickly spread about the unparalleled quality and precision of Accupro® products and we rapidly expanded into a full-fledged manufacturing operation.
In the 1980s, under the leadership of John’s daughter Mary Smith, we opened additional factories in California, Texas, and Michigan to meet the growing demand. Mary spearheaded our expansion into CNC machining equipment and precision measuring tools that became essential for aerospace, automotive, and other high-tech industries.
Today, Accupro® operates 7 manufacturing facilities and 25 warehousing/distribution centers strategically located across the United States. We also have established partnerships with trusted OEM suppliers in Europe and Asia. However, we remain committed to keeping our headquarters and core R&D in the U.S.
